The site to the south of lake Hohennauener See offered ideal conditions for the development of a golf course. Mighty forests surrounded an area featuring a wealth of ditches, wooded copses, and ancient oak avenues. In the centre of it all, an over-200-year-old oak tree. The excavation for the water obstacles and the topsoil clearing revealed the fine and unusually pale-coloured sand typical for the Mark Brandenburg region.
Today, these areas of sand give the course its characteristic looks, demand little maintenance, and in terms of nature conservation provide potentially valuable habitats. Players can easily find the balls they hit wide, in contrast to balls hit into dense roughs or bushes, and can play on with them.
The golf course has hosted German Championship Tournaments several times, and has an excellent reputation at home and abroad for outstanding sporting, landscape and comfort quality.
