The Rosendael Golf Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf clubs in the Netherlands and a member of the "Oude Negen Clubs" (The Old Nine). The golf course, close to Arnhem, was the venue of the Dutch Open in 1984.

In 2011, the club intended to modernize its traditional golf course. This included above all the renewal of the training facilities and the installation of a short course. The necessary space could be generated by giving up two old golf holes and by a new area in the north. A new Par-3 and a new Par-4 course, which were placed in the existing forest in consultation with the authorities, now round off the 18 golf holes again harmoniously.

This exceptional agreement with the authorities could be achieved, in particular, because the degenerate heath areas, which had originally been located on large parts of the golf course, were revitalized and therefore ecologically revaluated.

In addition, all bunkers were subjected to a suitable face-lift in 2012 and brought up to date with the latest technology. In 2023, several new green areas with run-offs as well as some new bunkers, paths and heath areas were realised.

"Leider beschränkte sich der Rosendaelsche längere Zeit darauf der älteste Club zu sein und folgte einfachen Entwicklungs- und Pflegerichtlinien. Ich möchte allen Lesern eines klar machen. Dies ist nicht mehr der Fall. Der Rosendaelsche wird mittlerweile umfangreich verbessert, um diesen wunderschönen Golfplatz wieder auf die höchsten Championship Standards zu bringen.

Viele dieser Verbesserungen sind schon jetzt sichtbar. So sind zum Beispiel alle Bunker von Christoph Städler, einer der bekanntesten deutschen Golfplatzarchitekten, der für die komplette Renovation verantwortlich ist, umgebaut worden. Ich finde es gibt nichts besseres für einer klassischen Golfplatz als einen Architekten, der mit Respekt für das originale Design die Bespielbarkeit und die Ästhetik verbessert. Er hat eine phantastische Arbeit gemacht.
Die neue Bunkergestaltung des Rosendaelschen ist funktional und ästhetisch ansprechend, eine wirkliche Verbesserung des Platzes."
