The Breitenloo golf course has an extraordinarily high-class appearance, starting with the imposing clubhouse and the other infrastructure and ending with the golf course, which was presented in an immaculately maintained condition.
The golf course is characterised by an old, striking, diverse stock of trees, which form very impressive scenery and lend the course the character of a classic parkland golf course. The slightly hilly topography, which was used in an ideal way with cleverly chosen locations for the greens and tees while avoiding blind shots as far as possible, increases the joy of playing and the enjoyment of the attractive landscape conditions.
Within the framework of an international competition, the bunkers were to be subjected to a strengths/weaknesses analysis and proposals for renovation and optimisation presented. In addition, the golf course should be examined as to whether other weaknesses can be identified, for the elimination of which appropriate improvement measures can be recommended. We won this competition in 2019.
In the summer of 2020, in only 3 months, besides the redesign of 45 bunkers with the rubber liner Blinder, extensive work was carried out to optimise the irrigation system. Absolutely minimally invasive, the green sprinklers were converted to back-to-back and the fairways from 1- to 3-row.
